If you are looking at new printers, the specs on the Dell sales web site will list what it is compatible with.

If there is a specific model, go to the downloads for that model and if it's compatible with Vista there will be Vista drivers listed. Click on "drivers and downloads" on the lower left of this page. It is working without problems. I use Epson's as they are the only ink jets that will print directly on CD and DVD's - I do a lot of audio CD work as I have a home recording studio and I do not use the paper labels they are problems and passe.
