Now, if trophies had leaderboards then it would be make things more competitive but I collect trophies for myself, not to beat anybody.

Not to farm the hell out of titles that suck although that has become an unexpected benefit just to get more platinum trophies higher gamerscore than the next person. Also, I haven't noticed any difference in reliability between games with dedicated servers on the PS3 and supposed P2P on the For instance I haven't noticed Killzone 2 or Uncharted 2 being any more reliable or having less lag than Halo 3 or Gears 2.

I get disconnected in games on Uncharted 2 all the time, but I never have problems with Halo 3. All in all Xbox Live feels a little more stable to me, regardless of whether you want to say one has more dedicated servers or whatever. I am simply going off my own experience with both services.

I'm sure on the PS3, you can even view your trophy collection offline.
