Repair vista upgrade has been disabled

Make sure that the Installation media contains similar version of windows vista as present on the computer. Make sure that the service pack on both installation media and computer are similar. You cannot upgrade from 32 bit OS to 64 bit OS. Check what is the service pack installed on the computer and what is included in the installation disk. Refer the below links for more information. If you are unable to fix them even after checking and following the below articles I would suggest that you try to perform the in place upgrade.
