Driver to charge blackberry via usb
Oddly, my doesn't seem to care if the drivers are there or not. It charges on every PC I've plugged it into so far. It'll charge a totally drained battery, actually. Without drivers, it may do a slow minimal charge, or not at all.
The gimmick devices you mention usually show up as a generic device in windows and thus don't need drivers. Blackberries, for the most part, don't show up like that. The problem was that the BB wasn't charging, even though it was getting voltage, and the Charge light on the BB was lit.
I've got a , as do several other users, a few have older models. Select Change plans settings , then Change Advanced Power settings. For Windows 8 Hover over the lower left hot corner and Right click. Choose device manager from the menu list If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.
Verify User Account Control is disabled. Click User Accounts. In the User Accounts window, click User Accounts. Click Continue. Restart the computer. Click User Accounts and Family Safety.
Move the slider to the bottom. For Windows 8, complete the following steps: Access the Desktop tile from the Windows 8 screen. Slide or swipe to the bottom right corner to access the Charms Bar. Select the Settings icon. Click on Control Panel. In the All Programs section, open the BlackBerry folder. Right-click BlackBerry Link and click Properties. Click the Compatibility tab. In the Privilege Level section, select the Run this program as an administrator check box.
If using Windows Vista and Windows 7, enable the privilege level by completing the following steps: From the Start menu, click All Programs. OEM", if they are present delete them. Check the firewall and anti-virus settings to allow access to the device. I recently acquired a blackberry pearl for rather cheap.
One condition of the low price point was that the phone was OEM. No drivers, no cables, and most importantly, no charger. I want to make a cable that I can charge with via PC or wall wart, but I am not sure how this is done. This becomes a problem, because I cannot always keep my desktop on…or turn it on when I need to charge my blackberry.
I guestimate that the resistor puts about 3 volts on the D- pin and causes the blackberry accept the charge. Because the USB cable I am using to charge my device only has 4 pins 5, actually.. Can somebody verify this? My ultimate goal, depending on what information I can gather, is to make a simple cable that can power the blackberry two different ways. Thanks sooo much. Last edited: 19 Jun To the best of my knowledge, the blackberry drivers force additional voltage to flow out the Data pins.
Below is a badly drawn schematic of my cable.
